Guidance on How to Register as a Pro Bono Legal Assistance Provider Under The Louisiana Emergency Pro Bono Civil Legal Assistance Rule
Under an emergency rule issued by the Louisiana Supreme Court in 2006 and extended through 2008, out of state attorneys may become certified to provide pro bono legal assistance to Louisiana residents on matters "reasonably related to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and their aftermath . . . ." Applications for this certification must be filed with the Office of Disciplinary Counsel of the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board.

View a copy of the Emergency/Disaster Training Manual for Volunteer Attorneys (which attorneys must certify they have read as part of the application)
Attorneys must also certify that they have read the Louisiana Rules of Professional Conduct.
Attorneys must also include certificates of good standing from each jurisdiction they are admitted to practice in with the application.
