Professionalism Speakers

When the Supreme Court of Louisiana amended the MCLE requirements to include, a yearly hour of professionalism within the mandatory 15 hours, the Professionalism and Quality of Life Committee became concerned that initially there may not be enough attorneys across the state to provide a “quality” hour of professionalism as distinguished from ethics.

To assist in making sure that, in at least the first year, there would be qualified speakers the committee developed a twofold program. First, they created a speakers bureau utilizing the committee membership and made themselves available to present programs upon request. To further their goal they began hosting a free speakers training session. These half day sessions have been open to any Louisiana-licensed attorney and provide a hands-on workshop on not only how to be an effective speaker but also how to provide an informative and interesting professionalism presentation.
