Manuscript Policy and Guidelines for Feature Articles
- Authors should contact Journal Editor Barry H. Grodsky before writing the article to determine if the topic meets the needs of the publication and to discuss focus and scope of the topic. He may be reached at (504)599-8535 or emailed at bgrodsky@taggartmorton.com. Preference is given to members of the Louisiana State Bar Association and, particularly, to members who have not had an opportunity to publish articles in the Journal.
- Length of articles should not exceed 1,800 to 2,400 words, approximately eight pages, on 8 1/2" x 11" paper. Manuscripts must be completely typewritten.
- All citations should follow the style in The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation, with the exception of the following:

Please be certain to include subsequent history, including writ or cert denials.
- The article may be emailed (preferred) or submitted on a CD using Microsoft Word or WordPerfect. The article should be typed clean, without being stylized. Also, we will need a short biography and a recent photograph for each author. At the conclusion of the article, list three to five key words or short phrases that will assist in preparation of a subject index.
- No compensation is made for articles published in the Louisiana Bar Journal.
- Articles accepted for publication become the property of the Louisiana Bar Journal. Authors must sign a Copyright Assignment and Indemnity Form prior to publication.
- No articles will be considered that have been submitted simultaneously to another publication or that have been published in another publications.
- Submission of an article does not guarantee consideration for any particular issue. Often articles are selected issues ahead. An article, therefore, may be considered for possible publication in a future issue(s). All manuscripts are carefully reviewed and considered by the editor and/or the board of editors.
