Nomination Deadline is Feb. 15 for 2012 Young Lawyers Division Awards
The nomination deadline is Feb. 15, 2012, for several LSBA Young Lawyers Division awards. All awards will be presented at the LSBA Annual Meeting in Destin, Fla., in June 2012. Awards include the Hon. Michaelle Pitard Wynne Professionalism Award, the Outstanding Young Lawyer Award, the Service to the Public Award, the Service to the Bar Award and the YLD Pro Bono Award.

Regional High School Mock Trial Competitions Scheduled for February and March
The Regional High School Mock Trial Competitions have been scheduled. As described below, the competitions are set to take place at the end of February and early March, 2012. For more information on the regional competitions, please contact the Regional Coordinators. View a complete listing of the parishes comprising Regions 1-4 and the contact information for the Regional Coordinators (page 13) in the 2012 Mock Trial Handbook.

Region1- Shreveport/Monroe/Alexandria
Date of Regional Competition - March 3, 2012; Deadline to register- February 17, 2012; Location of competition - 1st JDC, Shreveport

Region 2- Lafayette/Lake Charles
Date of Regional Competition - February 25, 2012; Deadline for registration ended January 16, 2012; Location of competition- 15th JDC, Lafayette Parish Courthouse

Region 3- Baton Rouge/Livingston/Ascension
Date of Regional Competition- March 2-3, 2012; Deadline for registration ended January 25, 2012; Location of competition- 19th JDC, Baton Rouge

Region 4- New Orleans/Northshore
Date of Regional Competition- March 3, 2012; Deadline to register- February 14, 2012; Location of competition- 24th JDC, Gretna

Winners of the Regional Competitions will go on to compete in the State High School Mock Trial Competition on March 17, 2012, in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
