Gary K. McKenzie
Gary K. McKenzie has been practicing bankruptcy law, business litigation and commercial litigation since 1989. Mr. McKenzie received his B.A. from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and his J.D. from Louisiana State University. He is a board certified business and consumer bankruptcy specialist. Mr. McKenzie has dedicated more than 1000 hours of service accepting cases from the Baton Rouge Bar Foundation’s (BRBF) Pro Bono Project since he began practicing law. The cases have primarily been related to bankruptcy, but he has also represented pro bono clients in family law matters, employment claims and breach of contract claims. In 2012, Mr. McKenzie presented information on finance and debt management to participants of quarterly financial literacy seminars, offered by the Pro Bono Project. He has consistently been a go-to volunteer for pro bono cases in the area of bankruptcy law and has served as a speaker for a number of bankruptcy CLE seminars for the Baton Rouge Bar Association over the years. He also serves as a mentor to attorneys new to the area of bankruptcy law, as well as to newly admitted attorneys.
