Knowledge Is Power in the Information Age: Understanding Intellectual Property Issues in Your Practice 

ONLINE REGISTRATION IS CLOSED! We ARE accepting on-site registrations. The fee is $320 and includes a link to the electronic seminar manual. Printed manuals ($40) and flash drives ($25) will be avaialble for purchase at the seminar. Registration is from 8-8:30 a.m. in Grand Ballroom, located on the 5th floor of the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel, 500 Canal St. The LSBA accepts cash, check, VISA, MC and Discover.

No matter the practice area, your clients have intellectual property, and you need to know how to help them protect it. Intellectual Property (IP) means creations of the mind: inventions; literary, artistic, and musical works; names, logos and designs used in commerce; and proprietary know-how maintained as trade secrets. IP-intensive companies drive 37% of Louisiana private sector jobs, 48% of the state’s output, and 66% of its exports, according to a 2012 study by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

This seminar will benefit practitioners in all areas of the law by giving them the information they need so that they, and their clients, won’t be left behind in the new, information-driven economy.

The fee includes electronic course materials, seminar attendance and coffee/refreshment breaks. On-Site Registrants will be provided the link to download electronic course materials at the time of registration. Printed seminar manuals will be avaiable for purchase at the seminar.

This program has been approved for a maximum of 6.25 hours of CLE credit, including 1 hour of professionalism.

Important Note: This program is Paper-Free! The LSBA is working on ways to reduce the amount of paper we use at seminars and symposia. This is an effort both to be responsible toward our environment and to increase the quality and timeliness of the resources provided through this learning experience. Electronic program materials are accessible via a link where attendees can download/save OR download/print the seminar materials. The link will be sent to the email address of record you provided to the LSBA, prior to the seminar. We suggest you print the materials in advance and bring them with you. If you choose to review the materials from your laptop, we strongly suggest you save them to your desktop and charge your laptop battery, as electrical outlets may be limited. Internet access will not be available in the meeting room.

A printed manual can be purchased for an additional $40 and seminar materials on a flash drive can be purchased for $25.

Cancellation of registration must be received in writing by the LSBA no later than April 19. Cancellations will receive a full refund, less a $25 administrative charge. Absolutely no refunds will be made after April 19.
