      <title>Voting in Runoff Races Continues Through Feb. 6

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Runoff voting will continue through Monday, Feb. 6, for two LSBA leadership positions — one House of Delegates seat and one Young Lawyers Division Council seat. Balloting again is being conducted electronically and by mail. Electronic voting should be completed before midnight CST on Feb. 6 and mailed ballots should have a U.S. postmark by that date. Mailed ballots with a U.S. postmark of Feb. 6 or earlier must be received by Feb. 9 in order to be counted.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;All first-round election results for several leadership positions were certified on Dec. 16. Also in first-round voting, LSBA members approved three amendments to the Articles of Incorporation.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;• &lt;STRONG&gt;Amendment #1&lt;/STRONG&gt;: Amendment to Article VII, Section 1 of the Articles of Incorporation to create an additional Board of Governors district representative from Board of Governors District 5, comprised of the parishes of East Baton Rouge, East and West Feliciana, Livingston, St. Helena, Tangipahoa, Washington and St. Tammany. Approved by a vote of 1,854 for and 444 against.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;• &lt;STRONG&gt;Amendment #2:&lt;/STRONG&gt; Amendment to Article VIII, Section 3 of the Articles of Incorporation to clarify that the use of “reasonable effort” is sufficient in attempting to fill vacancies in the House of Delegates. Approved by a vote of 1,928 for and 368 against.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;• &lt;STRONG&gt;Amendment #3:&lt;/STRONG&gt; Amendment to the following sections of the Articles of Incorporation to change the name of the Young Lawyers Section to the Young Lawyers Division, and to create a Senior Lawyers Division: Article VII, Section 1, and Article XI, Sections 1, 2, 3 and 4. The ABA’s Commission on Immigration and the ABA Section of Litigation’s Immigration Litigation Committee are organizing a full-day training program for attorneys interested in volunteering on immigration court cases.
