Louisiana State Bar Association

Access to Justice Policy Committee

A 20 member Access to Justice Policy Committee has been created, not only to oversee the work of the ATJ Subcommittees, but to assure continuity of policy, purpose and programming in the collaboration between the private bar and the civil justice community so as to further the goal of assuring Louisianans, regardless of their economic circumstances, have access to equal justice under the law.

The ATJ Committee has been comprised primarily by those who provide the direct delivery of services; the composition of the ATJ Policy Committee will ensure diverse representation from a cross section of those involved in these issues, including the LSBA, LBF, Court, public interest firms, pro bono, LCJC, etc. The ATJ Policy Committee will meet regularly to guide the activities of the ATJ Committee, determine ATJ Committee policy and assess impact.
