ATJ Tech Subcommittee

Welcome to our ATJ Tech Subcommittee page! Here you will find information about the most recent activities ot the Access to Justice Tech Subcommittee.

Social Media
After holding a Tech Summit in December 2013, we enlisted new members and began working on a new project. Social media is used by many people to stay in touch with friends and family. Businesses are using social media to give a public face and inform customers and potential consumers of their services. Organizations use social media to inform the public of news, their accomplishments and to enlist support.  To assist civil legal aid providers, the Technology Subcommittee developed a series of toolkits to understand the different purposes for each type of social media, how to get started, how often to post and refresh content and other suggestions for running a good social media feature for their programs. The toolkits provide guidelines for starting a program-centric social media project, best practices for management and content, objectives and other information. Toolkits are available for Facebook, Woodpress website, content design and management for a generic template-based website, Google+, and Twitter. These guidelines are available for programs who want to use social media in increase the public's awareness of civil legal aid programs and the benefits they afford citizens.

The following social media toolkits are available to review and download.
We hope to add new members to our subcommittee in the next couple of months.  If you are interested in access to justice issues, love technology, want to have a direct impact on how technology is used by legal aid providers and have time to volunteer time for meetings and projects, send an email to Stephanie.Beaugh@lsba.org
