The LSBA's Young Lawyers Division Diversity Minority Involvement Committee, the Committee on Diversity in the Legal Profession (Pipeline and Outreach Subcommittee), the Minority Involvement Section, Southern University Law Center, and LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center are coming together to host a Black History Month CLE. 

The FREE seminar, is titled "The Continuing Struggle of Desegregation."  A panel of speakers will address the issue of desegregation over the past 20 years, and what it looks like now. 

Panel speakers will include:

  • A. P. Tureaud, Jr., the first person of color to attend LSU as an undergraduate
  • Leo Hamilton, Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson, L.L.P., Baton Rouge
  • Honorable Brian Jackson, Chief United States district judge, United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana
  • Honorable Nannette Jolivette Brown, United States district judge, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana 

The CLE will be held at the Baton Rouge Capitol Center from 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM.  It will be immediately followed by a free reception at the Capitol Park Museum.  Please let us know if you plan to attend the reception.
