Southwest LA Bar Association Law Day Ceremony and Liberty Bell Award - May 2, 2014


The Southwest Louisiana Bar Association cordially invites you to attend the annual Law Day Ceremony.  Please join us Friday, May 2, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., Courtroom A in the Calcasieu Parish Courthouse. Keynote Speaker is The Honorable Sharon D. Wilson of
14th Judicial District Court.

LIBERTY BELL AWARD NOMINATIONS BEING SOUGHT

The SWLBA is soliciting nominations of individuals to receive the Liberty Bell Award

with presentation at the Law Day Ceremony

This award has traditionally been awarded to “non-lawyers”, but lawyers may also be nominated. This is a community service award designed to recognize service that has strengthened the American system of freedom under the law. Anyone is eligible who has rendered outstanding service to his or her community by either promoting a better understanding of our Constitution and the Bill of Rights; encouraging greater respect for laws and courts; stimulating a deeper sense of individual responsibility so that citizens recognize their duties as well as their rights; contributing to the effective functioning of our institutions of governments, or fostering a better understanding and appreciation of the rule of law.
