A. P Tureaud, Jr. is Keynote Speaker At GBR Louis Martinet Scholarship Gala - April 26, 2014


Saturday, April 26, 2014 the Louis A. Martinet Scholarship Gala hosts Keynote Speaker A.P. Tureaud, Jr., the first African American undergraduate student to attend Louisiana State University.  The Gala will be held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.  at Juban's  Restaurant, located at 3739 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge.  This year's theme is in honor and celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington, and other noteworthy moments of the Civil Rights era.

Notable attorneys and trailblazers in the Baton Rouge community will be recognized and scholarships will be presented to several deserving high school and law students.  A silent auction packed with local items and art will add to the fundraising of the evening.  Plan on an exciting evening of food, drinks and entertainment!

Finally, the Greater Baton Rouge Chapter of the Louis A. Martinet Legal Society will officially swear in its Executive Board at the Gala.  Congratulations to Rolando Urbina - President;  Donna M.  Lee - 1st Vice President; Talya Bergeron - 2nd Vice President; Lykisha Vaughan - Treasurer and Christopher Hebert - Immediate Past President.
