Legislation
The mission of the Legislation Committee shall be to: inform the membership of legislation or proposed legislation of interest to the legal profession; assist the state legislature by providing information on substantive and procedural developments in the law, disseminating information to the membership, identifying resources available to the legislature, and providing other appropriate non-partisan assistance; and advocate for the legal profession and the public on issues affecting the profession, the administration of justice and the delivery of legal services.

- Friday, March 29, 2013: Bill prefiling deadline for Louisiana legislators
- Saturday, April 6, 2013: LSBA Legislation Committee’s First Meeting; Baton Rouge, La.
- Monday, April 8, 2013: 2013 Louisiana legislative session convenes
- Wednesday, April 17, 2013: “Five Bill” Deadline for Louisiana legislators
- Saturday, April 20, 2013: LSBA Legislation Committee’s Second Meeting; Renaissance Hotel; Baton Rouge, La. (open meeting)
- Saturday, April 20, 2013: LSBA’s Board of Governors meeting
- Thursday, June 6, 2013: 2013 Louisiana legislative session adjourns
