Thomas M. Hayes III

Thomas M. Hayes III is a partner in the Monroe firm of Hayes, Harkey, Smith & Cascio, L.L.P. He received a BA degree, with honors, in 1974 from the University of the South in Sewanee, TN, and his JD degree in 1977 from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center. He was admitted to practice in Louisiana in 1977.

Tom served on the Louisiana State Bar Association’s Board of Governors in 1992-94 and for several terms on the Nominating Committee. He also served as an examiner on the Supreme Court’s Committee on Bar Admissions.

He is a council member of the Louisiana State Law Institute and a member of the Federation of Insurance and Corporate Counsel and the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the American Bar Foundation and the Louisiana Bar Foundation.

Tom and his wife, Karen Luikart Hayes, have been married for 35 years and are the parents of four children.
