BESE Accepting Applications from Attorneys, Retired Judges as Disciplinary Hearing Officers The Louisiana State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) is accepting applications from attorneys and retired judges willing to serve as disciplinary hearing officers (DHO), as contained in Act 570 of the 2014 Regular Session. Applications will be accepted until close of business on Nov. 10. BESE is required to maintain a statewide list from which DHOs will be randomly selected when local school district superintendents choose not to use their district’s board-approved lists.
