Law School Mock Trial Competition
The 2014 Law School Mock Trial Competition was held at the LSU Law Center on Saturday, April 19. Congratulations to Mississippi College School of Law (MC Law) as winners of the 2014 competition! Tulane University Law School placed second in the mock trial competition.
The MC Law team consisted of students Grafton Bragg, Stephen Butterfield, Allison Johnson and Emily Kincses. MC Law is the first non-Louisiana school to win the competition. MC Law is also the only law school outside of Louisiana to offer civil law courses and award a civil law certificate.
Law School Essay Contest
Each year, law school students throughout Louisiana write essays on a topic provided by the chair of the Law School Essay Contest Committee.
Essays are due in the spring of each year. The first place winner will receive $1,000 from the Louisiana State Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Council, plus the publication of the winning essay (bylined) in the official journal for the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Louisiana Bar Journal. One runner-up will also have his/her name and essay published in the Louisiana Bar Journal.
