Members attending the Summer School and Annual Meeting in the past already know that the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, Fla., is the perfect showcase for the many business, CLE and social activities associated with these two events.


This year, the LSBA is sweetening the deal to encourage more members to participate:



Newly inducted Louisiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Catherine D. (Kitty) Kimball will deliver her first address to the General Assembly during this year's Annual Meeting. She was the first woman to be elected to the Louisiana high court and is the first woman Chief Justice.

Chief Justice Kimball received her JD degree in 1970 from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center. She has served as an associate justice on the Louisiana Supreme Court bench since 1992. Her career has included work as a sole practitioner (1975-82), as an assistant district attorney (1978-82), as an 18th Judicial District Court judge (1982-92) and as Chief Judge of the 18th JDC (1990-92).
