New Orleans: The Pro Bono Project will hold a legal clinic in partnership with St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1019 N. Prieur, New Orleans, focusing on BP/DWH claims, staffed by the Pro Bono Project and volunteers
 
Lake Charles: Southwest Louisiana Legal Services will provide free notarial services through the Salvation Army on Oct. 25.
 
Alexandria: The Central Louisiana Pro Bono Project is hosting a free Wills and Power of Attorney Clinic from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at the Rapides Parish Main Library.

The Central Louisiana Pro Bono Project is hosting a free Wills and Power of Attorney Clinic from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at the Rapides Parish Main Library. Also, a digital billboard will run an appreciation ad for pro bono attorney volunteers on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during that week. An appreciation ad will be placed in the local newspaper naming and thanking pro bono attorneys who accepted cases in 2011-12.

The North Shore Pro Bono Project of Southeast Louisiana Legal Services is holding a free “Ask a Lawyer” day from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday, Oct. 5, at the Covington Branch of the St. Tammany Parish Library, 310 W. 21st Ave. Also, the annual awards luncheon will begin at noon on Friday, Oct. 26, at the 22nd Judicial District Court’s jury pool room. A complimentary lunch will be served. Judge Reginald T. Badeaux III will be the guest speaker.

Legal Services of North Louisiana, Inc. Pro Bono Project (Monroe branch) will conduct its annual Pro Bono Awards Day luncheon for its attorney volunteers beginning at noon on Friday, Oct. 26.

Southwest Louisiana Legal Services has contacted the mayor about declaring “Pro Bono Week” for Lake Charles. The organization is conducting free legal advice clinics at the Calcasieu Parish public libraries throughout the fall and will provide free notarial services through the Salvation Army on Oct. 25. The organization will present the Jim Ortego Pro Bono Award to this year’s recipient at Fall Court Ceremony on Oct. 26.

The Pro Bono Project in New Orleans will present several programs, including: Tuesday, Oct. 23, CLE on construction law presented and hosted by Krebs Farley & Pelleteri, P.L.L.C.; Wednesday, Oct. 24, CLE on simple succession procedure, presented by Chris Coty with the Pro Bono Project, hosted by Jones Walker, L.L.P.; Thursday, Oct. 25, legal clinic in partnership with St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1019 N. Prieur, New Orleans, focus on BP/DWH claims, staffed by the Pro Bono Project and volunteers; and Friday, Oct. 26, CLE on BP/ DWH claims process, presented by Sean Sullivan with the Pro Bono Project, site to be determined. In addition, the Pro Bono Project has secured Proclamations for Pro Bono Week from New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu and Jefferson Parish President John Young.
