MINORITY INVOLVEMENT SECTION'S FOURTH ANNUAL MINORITY LEGAL INTERNSHIP FAIR CONVERTED TO A VIRTUAL FAIR
3/31/2012
Louisiana State Bar Association Minority Involvement Section has decided to convert its fourth annual Minority Legal Internship Fair to a "virtual" fair rather than to host an "in person" fair.
Nevertheless, no other FREE venue in Louisiana offers employers such a large pool of talented students with diverse backgrounds who are offering themselves for free or modestly-paid internships during all or part of the summer. As a virtual internship fair, there was not any "in person" activities, interviews, or information tables. Similarly, there was not to be a diversity networking lunch. However, the LSBA Minority Involvement Section actively assisted employers in locating students to fill positions within their organizations and provided resumes to all registered employers. All internship fair employers received a link to the books containing the students' resumes. Employers may interview -- at their convenience -- the students with whom they were interested. The Minority Involvement Section is confident that the virtual fair affords the most fiscally responsible and prudent means by which to achieve this year's goals.
