Justice Community Disaster Response - Law Student Involvement
Efforts are being made to garner the help and energy of law students from Louisiana law schools. Davida Finger from Loyola Law Clinic is working to have law students provide assistance in completing FEMA applications and appeals. Southern University law clinic is also coordinating similar events in the Baton Rouge area. Kathleen McNelis at the Louisiana Bar Foundation along with AmeriCorps attorneys Caroline Johnson and Amanda Rodgers will be coordinating efforts on similar initiatives for law students in Baton Rouge. Additionally, they will be working to get law student volunteers to staff the FEMA hotline at the LCJC and to assist attorneys at the DRCs.
