Louisiana Center for Law and Civic Education President Brian J. Engeron, left, presented Leslie Brown, a teacher at North Caddo High School in Vivian, with the Louisiana State Bar Association/Louisiana Center for Law and Civic Education's President's Award of Excellence for Outstanding Civics Teacher. The award was presented at the LSBA's Midyear Meeting in January. Brown was recognized for her innovative, interactive teaching techniques that increase her students' knowledge, understanding and respect for the government and the democratic system.
