Join the Louisiana State Bar Association for the 2024 Midyear Meeting! The three-day event will feature:

  • A reception honoring the 70-, 60- and 50-year members of the LSBA co-hosted by the LSBA and its Senior Lawyers Division
  • Meetings of the Board of Governors, the House of Delegates and other committees

Resolution Deadline for House of Delegates Meeting
The deadline is Wednesday, December 13, 2023 for submitting resolutions for the Louisiana State Bar Association’s (LSBA) House of Delegates meeting set for Saturday, January 20, 2024. This meeting is held in conjunction with the LSBA’s Midyear Meeting, January 18-20, 2024, at the Renaissance Baton Rouge Hotel (7000 Bluebonnet Blvd., Baton Rouge). Resolutions by House members and committee and section chairs should be addressed to LSBA Secretary Valerie T. Schexnayder and sent to the Louisiana Bar Center, 601 St. Charles Ave., New Orleans, LA 70130-3404, by 4:30 p.m. December 13. Resolutions must be signed by the author and an electronic word document version must be provided via email jen.france@lsba.org.

YLD to Present virtual Professional Development CLE Seminar on Jan. 19
The Louisiana State Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division will present its virtual Professional Development CLE seminar on Friday, Jan. 19, 2024. This innovative event offers a half-day of learning and networking for young lawyers to invest in themselves to make positive, professional connections and help their businesses thrive. Program details and registration forms will be made available soon via the Young Lawyers web page, check there for registration.

Free CLE Seminars on Thursday, Jan. 18
The LSBA will present free CLE seminars in conjunction with the Midyear Meeting allowing participants to earn MCLE hours. All seminars will take place on Thursday, January 18 at the Renaissance Baton Rouge Hotel.  To register for these seminars, participants must first complete the free Midyear Meeting registration. Sessions include:

Free Photo Bar IDs offered at Midyear Meeting
During this year’s Midyear Meeting, the LSBA is offering free Photo Bar IDs to members who have not had one issued previously. Attorneys must be in good standing to receive a Photo Bar ID. Photo Bar IDs will be offered at the Renaissance Baton Rouge Hotel foyer on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024 from 1 to 3 p.m. View additional Photo Bar ID rules by clicking here.
