Comments Sought on Proposed Legal Writing CLE Requirement for Some Young Lawyers

The MCLE Committee is seeking comments on a proposal regarding a new CLE requirement aimed at improving legal writing.

The new CLE requirement would require attorneys who have been admitted to the practice of law in Louisiana for at least three (3), but not more than five (5) years, to obtain six (6) hours of CLE credits concerning legal writing. The proposal is aimed at improving the legal writing skills of attorneys who are still early in their careers, but who have gained a few years of experience in legal writing. Before further consideration of the proposal, the MCLE Committee is interested in hearing comments from members of the Bar and the public.

Please send your comments by December 31, 2017 to MEMBER@LASCMCLE.ORG. Please note that any comments submitted pursuant to this notice are available for public inspection.
