Volunteers Sought for 2019 Law School Professionalism Orientations

The LSBA’s Committee on the Profession is seeking lawyers and judges to lead discussion groups in the next round of law school professionalism orientations.

The orientations, conducted at each of the state’s four law schools, are a permanent part of the orientation process for entering law students.  The Committee is asking lawyers and judges to return to their alma mater or to any of the schools to help give back part of what the profession has given them.

Date and start time as follows:
Southern University Law Center: Aug. 8, 10 a.m.
Loyola University College of Law: Aug. 13, 4:30 p.m.
LSU Law Center: Aug. 16, 2 p.m.
Tulane School of Law: Aug. 20, noon

The purpose of the program is to introduce the concept of professionalism to first-year students. The Committee will provide volunteers with a list of hypothetical situations, including annotations and suggested questions.  Pair up with a friend or colleague to co-lead a group of aspiring lawyers in a practical discussion of lawyer professionalism.

To participate, contact LSBA Associate Executive Director Cheri Cotogno Grodsky at (800)421-5722, ext. 107; (504)619-0107; or email cgrodsky@lsba.org.
