Public Comment Period Open for Proposed District Court Rule Amendments


The Louisiana Supreme Court’s Court Rules Committee has opened the 30-day public comment period on the spring 2017 proposed amendments to the Louisiana District Court Rules and their Appendices. The comment period began April 7.

The proposed amendments, as well as a summary of the proposed amendments, are posted on the Supreme Court’s website, http://www.lasc.org.

Interested parties who wish to comment on the proposed amendments during the 30-day period may do so via electronic mail, facsimile or U.S. mail.

Mail comments to: Court Rules Committee, Louisiana Supreme Court, Ste. 1190, 400 Royal St., New Orleans, LA 70130.

Once the 30-day period has expired, the Court Rules Committee will review all comments, make any changes it deems appropriate, and then submit a final draft to the Louisiana Supreme Court for review. If approved by the Supreme Court, the amendments will take effect on July 1, 2017.
