Online Nominations Open for Three Diversity-Related Awards Nominations are being accepted for the Guardian of Diversity Award, the Committee on Diversity in the Legal Profession Award and the Chief Justice Bernette Joshua Johnson Trailblazer Award.The Guardian of Diversity Award recognizes non-profit groups, local and specialty bar associations, and public interest organizations that implement and advance diversity programs to promote and support diversity in the legal community. The Committee on Diversity in the Legal Profession Award will recognize a current committee member (all categories of membership) who has demonstrated a commitment to diversity and has gone above and beyond their role on the committee to address the needs of underrepresented groups or public interest causes. The individual should demonstrate an ongoing commitment to the Committee through their appreciation, connection, and respect for all facets of diversity and makes active contributions to the betterment of the greater community as an agent for social change. The Chief Justice Bernette Joshua Johnson Trailblazer Award recognizes individual attorneys and judges who champion the ideals set forth by Chief Justice Bernette Joshua Johnson, the first African American chief justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court, who has always exhibited an unwavering commitment to enhancing diversity and inclusion in the legal profession.
