LSBA President Cunningham Encourages Participation in "Katrina 10" Day of Service

LSBA President Mark A. Cunningham is encouraging Bar members to volunteer their time and participate in projects in conjunction with the City of New Orleans’ “Citywide Day of Service: Katrina 10.”

In the 10 years since Hurricane Katrina devastated Louisiana, thousands of volunteers have demonstrated an extraordinary spirit of service. New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu and the City of New Orleans are celebrating this collective impact by supporting volunteer activities from Aug. 22-29, aiming to meet a goal of engaging more than 10,000 volunteers over seven days. On Saturday, Aug. 29 (the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina), the “Citywide Day of Service: Katrina 10” will engage thousands of volunteers and focus service on seven specific regions of the city. Volunteers will support more than 100 individual projects. This event is open to volunteers of all ages, backgrounds and levels of experience.
