Mark A. Cunningham is a partner with the Corporate Compliance and White Collar Defense Team in the New Orleans office of Jones Walker LLP. He received a BA degree in 1989 from Claremont Colleges (Pitzer College), his JD in 1992 from Tulane University Law School where he was Senior Managing Editor of the Tulane Law Review, and an LLM (Trade Regulation) in 1994 from New York University Law School. After graduating law school, Mark served as a judicial law clerk for United States District Judge Charles Schwartz, Jr. and then United States District Judge Sarah S. Vance. He was admitted to practice in Louisiana in 1996.
Prior to assuming the role of President, Mark served in several leadership positions in the Louisiana State Bar Association (LSBA), including President-Elect, Treasurer, Secretary, Editor of the Louisiana Bar Journal, and a member of the Board of Governors and House of Delegates. His other leadership positions in the legal community include service as a member of the board of directors of the New Orleans Bar Association. He is a former Chair of the Louisiana Center for Law and Civic Education and the New Orleans Pro Bono Project.
Mark and his wife, Meredith, have been married for 15 years. They live near Bayou St. John in New Orleans with their three children, Alistair (12), Virginia (10), and Pierce (6).
