LSBA to Co-Host 2-Hour CLE on Breaking Barriers in the Legal Profession

The LSBA and the New Orleans Chapter of the Federal Bar Association have come together to co-host “Dialogues on Inclusion: A Panel Discussion on Breaking Barriers in the Legal Profession.” The program will be held on Monday, June 29, 2015 from 3-5 p.m. at the U.S. District Courthouse in New Orleans (500 Poydras Street, Room C-501). The event has been approved for two hours of CLE credit (including one hour of professionalism). A reception will follow.  This program is inspired by the achievements of the Hon. Ivan L.R. Lemelle, who will assume senior status in June 2015.

Join Hon. Carl E. Stewart, Wayne J. Lee, María Pabón López, and Christopher J. Alfieri for a discussion on breaking the historic barriers of racial, socio-economic, gender, and sexual orientation bias in the legal profession.  Panelists will explore their professional experiences with the bench and bar.  Hon. Nannette Jolivette Brown will moderate this discussion which will include a conversation on the current civil rights issues of today.

The cost of the program is $20 for FBA members and co-hosting organizations, and $30 for non-members. For information, please contact the New Orleans Chapter of the Federal Bar Association by phone at 580-7990 or email CC Kahr, Executive Director.  Download the Agenda and Registration Form.
