“We often mix up conversation and debate . . . Indeed, you cannot win a conversation”. Luke A. Archer (Founder of Verbal Aikido)
Whether you are in a direct negotiation over a contract or involved as a Mediator working with disputing parties, verbal attacks can derail potential agreements. Verbal Aikido training equips mediators and negotiators in the legal sector with the skills to neutralize verbal aggression, manage emotional responses, and foster constructive dialogue.
In this highly interactive workshop inspired by the principles of Aikido (a Japanese martial art), Luke Archer will train participants to:
· Recognize the 7 principal types of verbal attacks
· Disarm each type of verbal aggression effectively, turning potential conflicts into opportunities for understanding
· Manage emotional distance with skill, ensuring that personal feelings do not cloud judgment or escalate disputes
· Create openings for being understood, fostering an environment where all parties feel heard and respected
· Promote healthy relationships by maintaining a balance between assertiveness and empathy
