Estate Planning and Administration CLE in Brief

Year of Application - Each applicant is required to obtain by December 31 of the year of application a minimum of eighteen (18) hours of estate planning and administration continuing legal education. CLE earned in prior years may not be used to satisfy the eighteen (18) hour requirement.

During the year of certification a Board Certified Estate Planning and Administration Specialist must attend a minimum of eighteen (18) hours of approved estate planning and administration continuing legal education programs. Following certification, CLE carry forward of eight (8) hours will be permitted.

ALL CLE MUST FIRST HAVE THE APPROVAL OF THE MCLE DEPARTMENT TO QUALIFY FOR SPECIALIZATION CREDIT, AND ALL CLE MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE RECORDS MAINTAINED BY THE MCLE DEPARTMENT. ALL PROGRAMS MUST HAVE THE APPROVAL OF THE ESTATE PLANNING AND ADMINISTRATION CLE COMMITTEE.

Board certified specialists and 2023 applicants may earn up to four (4) hours of approved specialization “computer-based" CLE credits for the 2023 compliance period ending Dec. 31, 2023, as per the Louisiana Supreme Court.
