Labor Law CLE in Brief

Year of Application - Each applicant is required to obtain by December 31 of the year of application a minimum of fifteen (15) hours of approved labor law continuing legal education. CLE earned in prior years may not be used to satisfy the fifteen (15) hour requirement.

During the year of certification a Board Certified Labor Law Specialist must attend a minimum of fifteen (15) hours of approved labor law continuing legal education programs. Following certification, CLE carry forward of eight (8) hours of approved labor law continuing legal education will be permitted.

ALL CLE MUST FIRST HAVE THE APPROVAL OF THE MCLE DEPARTMENT TO QUALIFY FOR SPECIALIZATION CREDIT, MUST HAVE THE APPROVAL OF THE LABOR LAW CLE COMMITTEE AND MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE RECORDS MAINTAINED BY THE MCLE DEPARTMENT.

Board certified specialists and 2023 applicants may earn up to four (4) hours of approved specialization “computer-based" CLE credits for the 2023 compliance period ending Dec. 31, 2023, as per the Louisiana Supreme Court.
