Diversity and Outreach
The Louisiana State Bar Association (LSBA) recognizes that achieving diversity in the legal profession is an evolutionary process that requires the Association's continued effort and commitment. Diversity is an inclusive concept that encompasses race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation and disability.
The Louisiana State Bar Association’s (LSBA) goal through outreach is to increase collegiality through communicating and collaborating with local and specialty bars, hosting events and providing networking opportunities that encourage the participation of attorneys, and increasing the presence of LSBA leadership throughout the state.
Pro Bono Resources
Providing Justice for All
Pro Bono Attorneys and Legal Services Programs provide access to justice for Louisiana's citizens.
Access to Justice supports and encourages efforts of dedicated attorneys who do pro bono work. Further, we encourage all Louisiana attorneys to fulfill their professional obligations established by Rule 6.1 of the Rules of Professional Conduct, which set an aspirational goal of 50 hours of pro bono legal services per attorney per year.

Lawyers’ Assistance Program
The Louisiana State Bar Association Committee on Alcohol and Drug Abuse was first established in 1985 to provide confidential assistance to members of the Bar and their families who were experiencing problems with alcohol or drug abuse. The Committee is composed of men and women volunteers, some in recovery from alcohol and drug abuse, some family members in recovery, and some just interested in helping with this mounting problem which permeates our profession and our society.
