J. Christopher (Chris) Zainey, Jr. is a partner with Lambert Zainey Smith & Soso, PLC, in New Orleans. Upon graduation from Loyola University College of Law in 2008, he served as a federal judicial law clerk to Judge James J. Brady of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana. Since entering private practice, his practice has focused primarily on representing plaintiffs in maritime personal injury and Jones Act cases, wrongful death cases, catastrophic personal injury cases and complex tort litigation.

Zainey served as chair of the Louisiana State Bar Association’s (LSBA) Community Action Committee and is a member of the Nominating Committee and a former member of the House of Delegates. He is a regular lecturer discussing maritime law updates for the LSBA’s Annual Meeting and is a regular panelist for the LSBA’s Admiralty Law Symposium in New Orleans every fall. He frequently lectures and/or moderates legal panels for various organizations, including the Louisiana Association for Justice (where he serves on the Board of Governors and co-chairs the Membership Committee), the Federal Bar Association (where he serves on the board of directors), Loyola University College of Law and Tulane University Law School, on topics including federal practice and procedure, professionalism, maritime law, oral arguments and environmental toxic torts, as well as teaching with the trial advocacy summer program at Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center. He has been recognized by Louisiana Super Lawyers and the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 for the past several years.
