G. Trippe Hawthorne is an attorney at Kean Miller in Baton Rouge, where he advises clients on all phases of construction development, dispute resolution, and general commercial litigation.
He currently serves on the Louisiana State Law Institute Council and previously served as General Counsel to the Louisiana State Licensing Board of Contractors.
Hawthorne has served as Special Advisor to the Louisiana Law Institute Security Devices Committee for the Private Works Act Revision Project and is a fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, where he chairs the Construction Law Committee. He frequently presents on topics related to construction law, licensing law, procurement, public bid disputes, ADR, and diversity in the legal profession.
Hawthorne is a certified mediator and arbitrator with Perry Dampf Dispute Solutions and is listed in the Louisiana Civil Mediator’s Registry maintained by the LSBA’s ADR Section. He is also on the Roster of Arbitrators for the American Arbitration Association and serves as the American College of Real Estate Lawyers’ representative to the National Construction Dispute Resolution Committee. Additionally, he is a graduate of the NITA Advanced Trial Program and the Harvard Program on Negotiation Mediation Training.
Hawthorne began his legal career as a law clerk to Judge John V. Parker of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana (1995-96). Away from work, he enjoys triathlons, working on bicycles, supporting his church, and spending time with his wife and three daughters. He has received multiple awards recognizing his contributions to his community.
