John M. Church is a professor of law at LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center and has been a member of the faculty since 1991. He received a BS in 1983 from Central Michigan University, an MS in economics in 1985 from the University of Illinois and his JD in 1988 from the University of Colorado. He was admitted to practice in Colorado in 1988 and clerked for the Hon. Robert H. McWilliam on the U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals and practiced law at Davis, Graham & Stubbs in Denver before joining the LSU Law faculty.
Church has served as LSU’s representative on the LSBA Board of Governors 13 times between 1998-24. He is a member of the American Law and Economics Association, the American Association of Wine Economists and the American Intellectual Property Association.
In his community, he is a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and is the President of the Advisory Board of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School. Church and his wife Karen have been married for thirteen years. He is the father of four children.
