The LSBA’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Section is encouraging Section members and all LSBA members to volunteer time and present mediation outreach programs at Louisiana schools. National Mediation Week is Oct. 11-17, but the presentations may be given through the end of October. The presentations focus on understanding different perspectives in a dispute, listening skills, and of being aware of cultural differences that may come into play. Because these are universal skills/concepts in the practice of law, any LSBA member may conduct the presentations.
