Free 19th Amendment CLE Webinar Offered on Aug. 18


Registration is open for the free CLE webinar, “Yet She is Advancing”: The 19th Amendment, New Orleans Women and the Right to Vote, 1878-1970

The free webinar will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 18 from 10-11:30 a.m. The program has been approved for 1.5 hours of CLE credit.

Dr. Libby Neidenbach, curator for The Historic New Orleans Collection, will discuss the women’s suffrage movement in New Orleans and highlight local African American women’s fight for access to the ballot. A panel discussion will follow with Sybil Haydel Morial (civil rights activist and former First Lady of New Orleans), Mary Keller Zervigon (daughter of civil rights activist Rosa Keller and former official with the Moon Landrieu administration), and Dr. Neidenbach. The panel discussion will be moderated by Hon. Nannette Jolivette Brown (Chief Judge for the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana).

The Louisiana State Bar Association participated in the planning of this event, with the GNO Louis A. Martinet Legal Society, Association for Women Attorneys, Federal Bar Association, New Orleans Bar Association, and U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana.
