1825 Civil Code Bicentennial Gala

The Supreme Court of Louisiana Historical Society invites members of the legal and academic communities to a signature celebration marking the close of its nine-month commemoration of the 1825 Louisiana Civil Code Bicentennial.

The Closing Gala will take place Friday, June 20, 2025, at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans. The evening begins with a Patron Party from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by the Gala from 7 to 10 p.m. This milestone event honors the enduring influence of the 1825 Civil Code and the contributions of those who have shaped and studied Louisiana’s unique civil law tradition.
