Joseph, Tate, Cassagne Certified Elected for LSBA, YLD Leadership Positions; Contested Races on Ballot Curtis R. Joseph, Jr. of Shreveport and Bradley J. Tate of New Orleans have been certified elected for 2025-26 LSBA president-elect and 2025-27 LSBA secretary, respectively, following the close of election qualifying on Oct. 14. Rachal Cox Cassagne of New Orleans has been certified elected for 2025-26 LSBA Young Lawyers Division secretary.Joseph will automatically assume the presidency in 2026-27. Joseph is a director at Blanchard Walker O’Quin & Roberts. Tate is a senior tax manager at CBIZ. Current YLD Secretary Christopher J. Sellers, Jr. of New Orleans will automatically assume the post of 2025-26 YLD chair-elect. Cassagne is an assistant United States attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana. Sellers is associate general counsel for Ochsner Health. Online Voting Open from Nov. 4-18 First-round voting will begin on Nov. 4 for 12 contested leadership positions for the Board of Governors, Nominating Committee, Young Lawyers Division Council and the American Bar Association House of Delegates. Deadline for electronically casting votes is Monday, Nov. 18. Balloting will be conducted electronically only, as approved by the LSBA Board of Governors and provided for in the Association’s Articles of Incorporation. No paper ballots will be provided. Amendment to Articles of Incorporation on the Ballot Also on the ballot will be an amendment to the LSBA’s Articles of Incorporation relating to a change in the Young Lawyers Division Bylaws. The amendment would state: “Every member of the Louisiana State Bar Association who has not reached the age of forty (40) years or who has been admitted to the practice of law for fewer than five (5) years, as of the beginning of the Association’s fiscal year on July 1, whichever is later, is by virtue thereof a member of the Young Lawyers’ Division.” Review the amendment online at: https://www.lsba.org/goto/elections.
