Attorney Volunteers Needed: State High School Mock Trial Competition Set for March 21 in Shreveport

The Louisiana State Bar Association’s (LSBA) Young Lawyers Division is seeking attorney volunteers to serve as scoring and presiding judges for the 2026 Richard N. Ware IV Memorial State High School Mock Trial Competition, set for Saturday, March 21, at the U.S. District Court for the Western District in Shreveport.

Volunteers are needed to serve as scoring and presiding judges for three rounds of the competition. Volunteers can participate in any round(s) they wish and will receive all information necessary prior to the competition date. No previous mock trial experience is necessary and all volunteers are welcome.
  • Volunteer shifts begin at 8 a.m., 10:15 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
  • The state competition is the culmination of four regional championships.
  • Attorneys interested in serving as judges for the competition should email Margaret L. Manning, mlm@stanleyreuter.com; Brad Cranmer, brad@mmcdlaw.com; Mary Catherine Joiner, mjoiner@bradleyfirm.com, or Jasmine Cooper, jcooper@caddoda.com.

The competition is named in memory of Hon. Richard N. Ware IV who enthusiastically volunteered for nearly a decade as the presiding judge of the final round of the Louisiana High School Mock Trial Competition.

This year’s state case, Louisiana v. Morgan Stamkos, was written by the members of the University of Louisiana-Monroe Mock Trial Team.
