Animal Law Section Annual CLE


The objective of the Animal Law Section’s 2023 Live CLE is to discuss animal law in practice by local and national litigators and professors as well as relevant jurisprudence and legislation in animal law. Topics to be discussed include the Truth in Labeling Food Products Act, the legislative and litigation history leading to the United States Supreme Court’s decision in National Pork Producers Council v. Ross, what lawyers and policy can do about animal agriculture’s effect on the climate crisis, federal dogfighting investigations and prosecutions, adoption certainty after Roark v. Fuselier, and ethical and professionalism issues that arise throughout the practice of animal law. The purposeof the CLE is to give the members of the Louisiana State Bar Association an update on Animal Law legislation and litigation as well as confront ethical and professionalism dilemmas that arise in this area of law. The CLE will also provide the members with ideas
for incorporating Animal Law into their practice areas.  The program has been approved 7 credit hours including 1 hour of Ethics and 1 hour of Professionalism.
