YLD Barristers for Boards and Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits CLE & Networking Events

Join the Louisiana State Bar Association Young Lawyers Division on Monday, September 14, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. for the Barristers for Boards Hybrid CLE. Attend either in-person or via Zoom and gain valuable insight into nonprofit board service. In-person registration is now FULL.

The program will begin with a one-hour board governance training presented by the Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits, followed by a discussion focused on the unique opportunities, responsibilities, and challenges young lawyers may encounter while serving on nonprofit boards.

Following the CLE, participants and nonprofit organizations will have the opportunity to connect at two networking events designed to foster meaningful relationships and encourage board involvement. During these gatherings, nonprofit representatives will share information about their organizations, discuss their missions and impact, and highlight ways young lawyers can contribute their skills and expertise.

The Barristers for Boards program aims to help young lawyers stay involved in their local communities through placement on nonprofit boards and committees. The LSBA YLD is partnering with the Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits to connect nonprofits with Louisiana young lawyers. 

The LSBA YLD and Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits look forward to connecting young lawyers with nonprofit organizations in their communities.
