A Message on the LSBA-Endorsed Lawyers Professional Liability Program from the LSBA President LSBA President Curtis R. Joseph, Jr. has shared a message regarding the LSBA-endorsed Lawyers Professional Liability Program and the ongoing transition to Old Republic Lawyers Specialty Insurance (ORLSI). This message outlines important information regarding the program transition and member benefits.Dear Members of the Louisiana State Bar Association: I am writing to update membership on the success of the insurance program enhancements that began in January 2026 when the LSBA endorsed Old Republic Lawyers Professional (ORLAW) as the new insurance provider for the Lawyers Professional Liability Program administered by Gilsbar. This transition was unanimously approved by the Insurance Committee and the Board of Governors. The feedback from members on the policy enhancements, pricing flexibility, cyber coverage incentives and improved risk management programs has been overwhelmingly positive. We are pleased with the ORLAW team and nearly all participants of the program remain so, ensuring stability for years to come. Your current policy remains in effect until its expiration date. CNA will issue non-renewal notices as required by law to facilitate the change, but no action is necessary on your part. ORLAW will provide renewal terms to all participants in the LSBA program. If someone other than your Gilsbar representative claims to represent the LSBA-endorsed program or asks you to confirm your policy renewal date, to complete an application or provide loss runs, they do not represent the LSBA program. Program highlights with ORLAW include: Local defense panel counsel retained for claims service continuity Flexible pricing strategy to provide competitive rates long term; 5% cyber standalone policy premium credit; Up to 10% risk management premium credit that needs to be re-certified every three years at no cost; Claim-Free deductible reduction of 50% (up to $25K for one claim reported) when law firm remains claims-free for three consecutive policy periods; and Wire fraud coverage endorsement with limits up to $250K. It is important that all claims or potential claims which occurred during the past policy year be reported to CNA as they are the insurer during the defined policy period. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your Gilsbar representative. Gilsbar and the LSBA remain committed to delivering high-quality insurance products at the most competitive price. Gilsbar is sending all insureds a notice in advance of their policy renewal date. If you have questions prior to receiving your renewal quote, please contact your Gilsbar representative or visit www.gilsbar.com/lsba-members-insurance-program. Thank you for your continued participation in the LSBA-endorsed program. Sincerely, Curtis R. Joseph, Jr.
