A Message from the LSBA President Regarding Emergency Admission to the Bar I am pleased that the Louisiana Supreme Court has resolved the issue regarding qualified 2020 bar applicants with a decision which balance the health and safety of bar applicants while mandating additional educational and mentoring requirements to preserve the integrity of the profession.Although the LSBA was not involved and had no role in the decision regarding cancellation of the bar exam or the subsequent decision regarding admission to the Bar, I am grateful that the Louisiana Supreme Court and the Committee on Bar Admissions came to a swift and timely resolution of this issue while considering the special circumstances for this class of applicants. I am sure that this announcement comes as a vast relief to the many individuals who underwent months of exam preparations in the middle of a pandemic while facing uncertain economic times. The Association will work with the Court to expand the Transition Into Practice Program to provide mentoring and guidance to all new attorneys. We will also ensure we have sufficient relevant CLE programming for this new class of lawyers. Congratulations to Louisiana’s newest attorneys. I wish you all long and prosperous careers.
