2026 LSBA Annual Meeting Awards


  • Judge Kelly E. Balfour of the Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeal is a recipient of the Louisiana State Bar Association President’s Award.
  • C.A. (Hap) Martin III is a member of the Monroe firm Shotwell, Brown & Sperry, APLC and is the recipient of the Louisiana State Bar Association President’s Award in recognition of his leadership and service.
  • Bradley J. Tate is an attorney with Sternberg, Naccari & White, LLC and is a recipient of the Louisiana State Bar Association President’s Award.
  • Patrick A. Talley Jr., New Orleans, is being recognized with the Louisiana State Bar Association’s Distinguished Service to the Profession Award for his longstanding leadership and service to the legal profession.
  • Annette Cambronero Buras is being recognized posthumously with the Louisiana State Bar Association’s Distinguished Service to the Profession Award for her extraordinary dedication and service to Louisiana’s legal community through more than 33 years with the LSBA.
  • Chief Judge Shelly D. Dick of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana is the recipient of the Catherine D. Kimball Award for the Advancement of the Administration of Justice.
  • Janis van Meerveld serves as chief United States magistrate judge for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
  • The A.P. Tureaud American Inn of Court received the 2026 Guardian of Diversity Award.
  • Hon. Bryan D. Haggerty of Slidell received the 2026 Louisiana Center for Law and Civic Education’s Judge Benjamin Jones Judges in the Classroom Award.
  • Judy Y. Barrasso of New Orleans received the 2026 Louisiana Bar Foundation’s Curtis R. Boisfontaine Trial Advocacy Award.
  • Carrie LeBlanc Jones of Baton Rouge received the 2026 Stephen T. Victory Memorial Award, recognizing outstanding contributions to the Louisiana Bar Journal, the LSBA’s magazine.
  • John L. (Jay) Dardenne, Jr. of Baton Rouge received the 2026 John A. “T-Jean” Hernandez III Memorial Award, presented for achievements in Francophone leadership.
  • Margaret L. Manning of New Orleans received the 2026 LSBA Young Lawyers Division’s Bat P. Sullivan, Jr. Chair’s Award.
