LSBA Honors the Life and Service of Annette Buras We are saddened to report that longtime LSBA CLE Coordinator Annette Buras passed away on February 18, after courageously battling pancreatic cancer for more than five years. Read more...Annette’s untimely death came as a surprise to many, as she quietly fought this terrible disease while continuing to perform her job with unwavering dedication and her trademark cheerful personality. Annette’s career with the LSBA spanned more than 33 years, starting as the receptionist in 1992, and being promoted several times until she became CLE Coordinator more than 20 years ago. Throughout her tenure with the LSBA, she expertly planned and executed more than 1,000 seminars, all while building lasting relationships with the countless lawyers, judges and facilities personnel who treasured and respected her. “One of my greatest accomplishments at the LSBA was hiring Annette in 1992. She was a treasure to the Bar and all who were lucky enough to know her,” said LSBA Executive Director Loretta Larsen. “It was such an honor and privilege to work with Annette. She was not only a valuable team member but an integral part of the LSBA family and we miss her dearly,” added Associate Executive Director Cheri Cotogno Grodsky.
