9:50 a.m. - 10:50 a.m. - Session Two (1.00 Law Office Management Credit Hour) Handling Social Media and Privacy Issues in the Workplace

It's more important than ever for you to make sure your social media policies and practices are in legal compliance.  This session delves into best practices for preventing and addressing workplace social media issues.  Determine how to respond to on- vs. off-duty misconduct, analyze relevant case law, and discover the legal essentials of disciplining employees for improper social media use.

10:55 a.m. - 11:55 a.m. - Session Three (1.00 Ethics Credit Hour) Defending Disciplinary Action

The best way to deal with an ethical complaint is not to have one in the first place.  A distinguished panel including LSBA Ethics Counsel, Deputy Disciplinary Counsel and Respondent's Counsel discuss ways to avoid common complaints.  When that fails, it is wise to know the "ins" and "outs" of the screening process, investigation and attorney prosecution.

12:25 p.m. - 1:25 p.m. - Session Four (1.00 General Credit Hour) What Non-Immigration Practitioners Need to Know about Immigration Laws

Foreign nationals are subject to a complex patchwork of statutes, regulations, jurisprudence, memoranda, and cables which pose a formidable barrier to casual research by the uninitiated attorney.

Hackers and law firms don't mix well. This presentation summarizes how to prepare for breaches before they happen, the ethics rules governing breach response, and the legal requirements for storing and disposing of personal information.

This session will examine the multiple methods of resolving business-owner disputes, otherwise known as "Business Divorces".
