Join the Louisiana State Bar Association in Baton Rouge for the 2019 Midyear Meeting! The three-day event will feature:
  • Engaging CLE programs
  • A reception honoring the 50-, 60- and 70-year members of the LSBA
  • Presentation of the Young Lawyers Division awards
  • Meetings of the Board of Governors, the House of Delegates and other committees
  • Meetings of the Louisiana Center for Law and Civic Education, the Louisiana Bar Foundation and other organizations

Registration for the Midyear Meeting is FREE. For a minimal fee, young lawyers can also register for the annual Young Lawyers Division Professional Development Seminar to be held on Friday, Jan. 18.

Resolution Deadline for House of Delegates Meeting 
The deadline is Friday, Dec. 14, for submitting resolutions for the Louisiana State Bar Association’s (LSBA) House of Delegates meeting. The meeting is set for Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, is held in conjunction with the LSBA’s Midyear Meeting at the Renaissance Baton Rouge Hotel (7000 Bluebonnet Blvd., Baton Rouge). Resolutions by House members and committee and section chairs should be addressed to LSBA Secretary John E. (Eddie) McAuliffe, Jr. and sent to the Louisiana Bar Center, 601 St. Charles Ave., New Orleans, LA 70130-3404, by 4:30 p.m. Dec. 14. Resolutions must be signed by the author and an electronic version must be provided via email to

YLD to Present Professional Development CLE Seminar on Jan. 18
The LSBA’s YLD will present “Build Your Brand,” the Louisiana Young Lawyers Conference on Jan. 18. Program organizers will apply for 4 hours of CLE credit (including ethics, professionalism and LPM). Sessions will discuss professionalism in the social media age, climbing the ladder at your law firm, building your law practice from the ground up, and more. The conference will also include presentation of the YLD Awards, a networking reception and group dine-arounds at local restaurants. Click here to register or find out more.

Adult Civics Education (ACE) CLE Free Training on Jan. 17
The Louisiana District Judges Association, the LSBA and the Louisiana Center for Law and Civic Education have partnered to form the "Adult Civics Education Program." Learn how to deliver interactive, law-related education presentations to adults in the community and receive expert training by the co-founders of the Florida Bar’s highly successful Benchmarks Adult Civics Education program. Free CLE Seminars Offered on Jan. 17
The LSBA is offering two free CLE seminars in conjunction with this year’s Midyear Meeting, allowing participants to earn up to 2.0 hours of CLE credit (including 1.0 hour of Professionalism). Both seminars will take place on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019 at the Renaissance Baton Rouge Hotel.  To register for these seminars, participants must first complete the free Midyear Meeting registration.
