Join the Louisiana State Bar Association for the 2026 Midyear Meeting! The three-day event will feature:

  • A reception honoring the 70-, 60- and 50-year members of the LSBA co-hosted by the LSBA and its Senior Lawyers Division

House of Delegates to Consider Four Resolutions at Jan. 24 Meeting
The Louisiana State Bar Association’s (LSBA) House of Delegates meeting is set for Saturday, January 24, 2026 and will consider four resolutions and other business items. This meeting is held in conjunction with the LSBA’s Midyear Meeting, January 22-24, 2026, at the Renaissance Baton Rouge Hotel (7000 Bluebonnet Blvd., Baton Rouge). Free CLE Seminars on Thursday, Jan. 22 (Registration now closed)
The LSBA will present free CLE seminars in conjunction with the Midyear Meeting, allowing participants to earn MCLE hours. Due to capacity limits, registration is now closed and no additional registrations can be accepted. All seminars will take place on Thursday, January 22 at the Renaissance Baton Rouge Hotel. Thursday CLEs include: 
  • Please Share the Sandbox: Professionalism Today from 10–11 a.m., presented by Robert A. Kutcher (Metairie), approved for 1.0 hour of Professionalism MCLE credit 
  • Artificial Intelligence in Civil Practice: Opportunities, Risks and Ethical Boundaries from 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m., presented by Jamilla A. Bynog (Lafayette), approved for 1.0 hour of ethics MCLE credit
  • "What's New in Civil Law" An Overview of 2025 Changes to the Civil Code and Code of Civil Procedure from 1–2 p.m. presented by Hon. Guy P. Holdridge (Ret.), Baton Rouge, offering 1.0 hour of general MCLE credit
  • What Is Legal Artificial Intelligence? Who Is Regulating It? How Do I Protect My Practice? from 2:15–3:15 p.m. presented by Elizabeth L. Henslee (Orlando, FL) , offering 1.0 hour of Ethics MCLE credit
  • Professional Development Workshop Series: Take Command, Be Empowered, and Own Your Future from 3:30–4:45 p.m., featuring Susan N. Eccles (Baton Rouge), Candace W. Gregory (Flowood, MS), and Rebecca Sha (New Orleans), and offering 1.25 hours of General MCLE credit 

Free Photo Bar IDs offered at Midyear Meeting
During this year’s Midyear Meeting, the LSBA is offering free Photo Bar IDs to members who have not previously been issued a card. Attorneys must be in good standing to receive a Photo Bar ID. Photo Bar IDs will be available at the Renaissance Baton Rouge Hotel foyer on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026 from 9 to 11 a.m. and 12:30 to 3 p.m. as well as on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. View additional Photo Bar ID rules by clicking here.
