Due to freezing weather conditions, events connected with Midyear Meeting may change. Please check back for updated information.

  • The Pro Bono Summit originally scheduled for Thursday morning has been cancelled.
  • All CLE's scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 18 from 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. have been cancelled.
  • The LSBA Editorial Board meeting has been cancelled. The meeting will be rescheduled at a later date.

Join the Louisiana State Bar Association in Baton Rouge in January for the 2018 Midyear Meeting. The three-day event will feature:
  • Several CLE programs
  • A reception honoring the 50-, 60- and 70-year members of the LSBA
  • Meetings of the Board of Governors, the House of Delegates and other committees
  • Meetings of the Louisiana Center for Law and Civic Education, the Louisiana Bar Foundation and other organizations

Registration for the Midyear Meeting is FREE. For a minimal fee, young lawyers can also register for the annual Young Lawyers Division Professional Development Seminar to be held on Friday, Jan. 19.

Cancelled: Free CLE Seminars Scheduled for Jan. 18
All CLE's scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 18 from 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. have been cancelled due to inclement weather. 

YLD to Present Professional Development CLE Seminar on Jan. 19
The Louisiana State Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division will present its annual Professional Development CLE seminar on Friday, Jan. 19, 2018. The seminar is open to the first 175 young lawyers who register. Program organizers will apply for 4 hours of CLE credit (including 1 hour of ethics, 1 hour of professionalism and 1 hour of law practice management). The registration cost is $30 and includes electronic course materials and breakfast at the Renaissance Baton Rouge Hotel (7000 Bluebonnet Blvd., Baton Rouge) Onsite registration will not be allowed unless space is available. Topics to be discussed include ethics, law practice management issues and professionalism. For more information, click here.

Adult Civics Education (ACE) CLE Free Training on January 19
The Louisiana District Judges Association, the LSBA and the Louisiana Center for Law and Civic Education have partnered to form an Adult Civics Education Program. Learn how to deliver interactive, law-related education presentations to adults in the community and receive expert training by the co-founders of the Florida Bar’s highly successful Benchmarks Adult Civics Education program.
